BLOOMINGDALE, N.J. — Family members, friends, and the Bloomingdale community are rallying around 4-year-old Harper Luski after a tragic drowning accident left the young girl critically injured and fighting for her life in the hospital.
According to family members, the heartbreaking incident occurred on Sunday, when Harper was rushed to a local hospital following the accident. She is currently receiving treatment in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), where she remains on a ventilator as doctors care for her severe injuries.
The devastating news was shared by Harper’s aunt, who described the family’s overwhelming grief and uncertainty as they remain by the child’s bedside.
Harper’s parents, Ally and her husband, have been surrounded by relatives, friends, neighbors, church members, teammates, and members of the wider community, all offering prayers, encouragement, and support during the difficult ordeal.
Those close to the family say they have long been known for their generosity and willingness to help others, making it especially difficult for them to ask for assistance during this time. A fundraiser has been established to help ease the financial burden associated with Harper’s medical care and allow the family to focus entirely on supporting one another as they navigate the days ahead.
Family members emphasized that donations are entirely voluntary but expressed deep gratitude for the outpouring of compassion they have already received.
“As our family walks through the unimaginable heartbreak surrounding our sweet Harper, our hearts have been overwhelmed by the love, prayers, and support shown by family, friends, neighbors, teammates, church, and community,” the family shared in a statement. “Thank you for surrounding us with such incredible compassion.”
The family also asked for continued prayers, saying they remain hopeful as Harper continues to receive intensive medical treatment.
“We need a miracle for Harper,” the statement said. “Her beautiful life has already touched countless people, and her light will continue to shine through the love she has inspired in so many.”
At the time of publication, Harper remains hospitalized in critical condition. The circumstances surrounding the drowning accident have not been publicly disclosed.
The Luski family continues to ask for prayers and privacy as they remain at Harper’s side, hoping for her recovery.
